Food and Dining Experience At The Singing Cooks and Waiters ATBP | Roxas Blvd, Pasay City, Philippines
Few days before my husband's return from abroad, I researched many restaurants where he can feel that he's really back in his own beloved country. I thought that buffet restos are too mainstream and overpriced, so I decided to have our first lunch together in a Filipino themed restaurant called THE SINGING COOKS AND WAITERS ATBP which is located in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

When we arrived at the place, I was a bit discouraged because the appearance is not appealing at all. BUT! Don't judge the book by it's cover. It may look like it's an old outdated building around an unsafe part of Manila; however, you'll see that there are security guards that will welcome you and will also keep your car safe.
Restaurant memorabilia: pictures of famous people who visited the place were posted on the wall. |
Once you go up on the second floor where the happenings take place, you will be greeted by the each staff with "MABUHAY!" a Filipino way of saying WELCOME.
The interior design seems impressive because you wouldn't expect that it would look like that basing on what you see from the outside. There were huge wood carved Machetes and roosters. The chairs and tables were also arranged strategically to cater big groups. You'll see kalรขn (stove) and palayok (wok) on the tabletop to make it look more native.
One of the many performances of the staff. That chef right there in the middle is the one who took our order. ๐ฑ Wow! Nice vibrato, chef! |
So, at last my husband eventually gave out our orders. While we're on standby, we cheerfully watched the crew sing and dance different songs. They have their own band who play the instruments when the crew is giving a total performance. By the way, if you go to this resto, please be prepared because they call person from each patron to participate dancing with them. My husband's cousin just danced and wiggled his hips up and down like a pro. Then our driver which is a huge man was called to dance to the tune of Jumbo hotdog by Masculados. Hahaha! What an unforgettable experience it is!

The only downside of our experience is that it took almost an hour to have the food served. But that's just a minor thing. Anyway we we're greatly entertained while waiting, so we didn't feel much hunger. Well, all I can say with regards to the flavorful dishes is two thumbs up! ๐ฏ
We undeniably enjoyed every single thing inside this bilao (circular basket) A collection of charcoal grilled meat and seafood topped with Latรด (a kind of seaweed) then a mix of unriped mango, tomato plus onion is the centerpiece. Drooling? ๐

The food is worth the wait! There's just four of us on the table plus my 2-year old Riri and yet we just devoured the meal in few minutes. We're quite delighted leaving the establishment especially my husband. He seldom gives comment to restos we go to but now, he's really satisfied with the musical restaurant. So guys, if you wanted to have a very good time then hop on to THE SINGING COOKS AND WAITERS ATBP. And yes, our car is still in there were we left it. ๐ Ciao!!!
