A Review: Li Cheng Guesthouse | Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

Hello from Hong Kong! This is our very first international trip as a family. I made all the arrangements by myself. After booking our flight, I started searching for the best hotels in Hong Kong. I searched online and found in booking.com the best deal! I have 4 requirements and Li Cheng Guesthouse met all of it.

My Mama and my daughter is excited to rest in our quadruple room after the flight.

1. Cheap

We're a family with 4 adult plus a 2-year-old. So, as much as possible I want to look for the cheapest available hotel. It doesn't need to be grand and posh because we're here to explore Hong Kong. That means most of the time we'll be out on the street and we will just need a place to sleep. I got excited when I booked the quadruple room for only 985HKD 4 days 3 nights. Even the host was surprised about the very cheap deal given by booking.com. Another thing that I like here is that you can pay in cash upon arrival at the hotel if you don't wanna pay using your card. Insane!!!

This is the elevator for Block B. Since the guesthouse is on the 8th floor, please be sure to go to even numbers.  Alrighty? 😊 Don't get lost like us. Haha!

2. Very Good Location

Li Cheng Guesthouse is situated in Block B 8th Floor Flat B7, Chungking Mansions, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. The place have 4 small elevators (2 for each Blocks) that can lift up to 7 people. Luckily, during our stay, we didn't experience long queue on the elevator. By the way, make sure you hop on the right one because one elevator caters even numbers and the other one is for odd numbers. The building is surrounded by malls, restaurants and the most important thing is it's very near to MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station (train station). Or if you prefer to go by bus or taxi, Nathan road is just infront of it. In short, it's very accessible! Thumbs up to this! πŸ’―

3. Comfortable

I booked a quadruple room with a private bathroom. I am already expecting that it's going to be a small room because I've read that most of the residential flats in Hong Kong is tiny due to high cost of living and besides, HK is just a small country but highly modernized. That's why it's densely populated by different races around the world. Going back, the guesthouse provides a lot of amenities like : toiletries, towels, hot&cold shower, TV, slippers, air condition, hair dryer and definitely a fast WIFI. They also give hot water and coffee if you'd like to drink one in the morning. If you wanted to use a Microwave oven, they can lend you one in their office. I'm glad that most of us are small people, so we didn't have a problem getting around the room. The best thing I like about this hotel is, they will clean your room every single day without asking it! The host Ms. May Wong greeted us when we arrived and welcomed us as if we're part of her family. She showed us our room with two twin bed. Then gave us information about the amenities and door locks. She is very approachable and friendly. The night before our flight, she even gave Riri a box of cookies from Disney. What a sweet gesture. I appreciate it!

4. Safe

I read a lot of review about Chungking Mansions which is the location of the guesthouse; some are good, some are bad that's why I got a bit concerned about our safety. According to the reviews, at the ground floor there's so many Indians and Africans that will force you to stay in their accommodation or they will sell variety of things to incoming tourists. However, basing on our experience, yes, they will offer but they won't force you especially if you already said "No". It's actually funny coz the Indians know you're a Filipino even without talking. They would say "Ate, bili ka na Sim card mura lang." Or "Ate, try mo to masarap promise."  In Indian accent Haha! With regards to the hotel, they will give you your own key for your room and another key for the main door. And thank God, we're all good from check in to check out! πŸ†—

So, guys if you have same requirements I would recommend you to stay here in Li Cheng Guesthouse! Aside from a very sweet host, she also guides guests about directions and makes sure your stay is perfect! If I'll have a chance to go to Hong Kong again I would surely book in her guesthouse again. XiΓ© xiΓ©!!!

TIP: I believe the Money Changers at the ground floor of Chungking Mansions have the highest  exchange rates. You're welcome!!! πŸ˜‰
