Recently,  we went to Baguio for a short vacation.  A day prior, I searched for our stay using travelbook. Ph and fortunately I found THE OLD ORANGEWOOD Bed & Breakfast which is located in 20 F.  Gomez St., Lower P.  Burgos, Baguio City,  Benguet,  Philippines  2600.

Wright Park Room
I got the Wright Park room for less than 1,200 pesos only! It is good for two adults and my daughter stays on the same bed for free. Well,  the room is just simple with a soft, comfortable bed and a cotton blanket with fluffy pillows.   They also provide toiletries plus towels. Take note that this is a fan room and  they don't have TVs but that's fine. It's a good thing we brought our laptop with all the cartoon movies that Yuri loves.  But the primary thing that we need here is a Hot Shower which they have, thank goodness!  The water pressure is surprisingly strong. Great!  So we can finish taking a bath immediately.  Haha!

So,  obviously I loved their amenities.  😁 What I appreciate here is their small playhouse located below the stairs. For us, who are traveling with a toddler thinks that this is actually a brilliant idea.  I asked the owner why did they come up with this and he said that they also live in the same building with their 'lil one who loves to play too.  And aww...I think he's a good family man.


While Yuri is busy scattering all the toys,   we hang out just beside the playhouse where there's a living room with a fireplace. We had a quick talk with the owner. He's so kind to personally light up the fireplace upon my request. He informed us that they also offer beer for 60 pesos each which we gladly agreed to have. My husband and I had a very nice time just seating on the huge couch with a beer in our hand,  talking about how he loves the weather here while we hear our daughter enjoying in the playhouse too.  Oh,  what a night! 



By the way,  if you smoke,  don't worry they have a designated smoking area for you with an artistic wooden chair overlooking Baguio's mountainside.

Aside from that,  our stay here already includes breakfast.  I asked to have our food to be served in their garden-- like a breakfast nook eventhough its still chilly!  Brrr! They cooked a delicious meal. I ordered Longganisa and smoked fish with sunny side up egg and coffee.  I just wish that they would add porridge or noodle soup in their menu though. It's what you usually eat in a cold morning,  right?

My latest obsession is BABY BACK RIBS.  Whenever I go to a restaurant that's the first thing that a check on their menu. Since it's a bit expensive on restaurants,  why don't I make a home-cooked Baby back ribs? I'm sooo thrilled with the outcome.  Here's what we need: Ingredients 1/2 kilo pork ribs 1 pack Hickory Barbecue sauce or regular BBQ sauce will do 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp chili powder (depends on your preference)  5 cloves of garlic Seasonings Procedure 1. Combine all dry ingredients and rub  it to the pork.  Add the wet ingredients then marinade it for at least 30 minutes or overnight using old ice cream containers your mother has been keeping. 😂  2. Cover it with foil to evenly cook the meat without burning the top first. Next,  put it in a turbo broiler with a temperature of 250 ° C for an hour or until the meat is tender.  You can also bake it in an oven instead if you like.

This is my king ham for our new born King, Jesus! Did you received a ham as a giveaway from your office? Now, here's the perfect recipe for you to cook this coming New Year's Eve! All you need is just 4 easy to find ingredients. Ingredients 1 ham 1 small can pineapple juice 1 small can of pineapple slices (reserve syrup) 1 cup of pure honey Procedure 1. Cut the ham in diamond patterns then in a thick pot, put the pineapple juice, reserved syrup, pineapple slices and the ham including its sauce from the packaging. 2. Simmer it for 20 minutes in low fire. After that, carefully take out the ham and pineapple slices. Set aside then continue boiling the sauce until it thickens. Make sure to keep stirring to prevent the sauce from burning. 3. Next, generously brush up sauce onto the ham then place it on a baking pan. Bake it using an oven or you can also use a turbo broiler just ensure that you cover it with foil first to evenly cook the ham.

Turbo Baked Cheesy Tortiglioni Macaroni

We just ate lunch but here I am cooking again for our  miryenda . 😝😁 Today, I'll show you how to cook baked tortiglioni macaroni using a turbo broiler. Sorry guys, we don't have an oven yet. Hopefully, I'm gonna have my own soon. Meantime, here's the recipe you can try! Ingredients:  500 grams Tortiglioni pasta 2 tbsp cooking oil 1/2 kilo ground pork or beef (depending  on your           preference) 1 kg pasta sauce 2 packs all purpose cream 1 small butter 200 grams mushrooms 3 cloves garlic, chopped 1 medium sized bell pepper, diced 1 pack quickmelt cheese Salt and pepper to taste Procedure: 1. Cook pasta according to packaging directions. Set aside. 2. In a pan, sauté garlic then add the ground pork. Season it with salt and pepper.  3.
