2Days 1Night Itinerary for Puerto Galera First Timers | Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro

During long vacations like the Holy Week,  people usually go somewhere to unwind from their crazy busy lives.  One of the best go-to places is in PUERTO GALERA! Why?  You'll find it out on this blog.

Day 1

                How to get there?

At Batangas Port
Unlike Boracay,  you don't need to fly just to reach Puerto Galera. The gateway going here is through Batangas Port.  From Metro Manila,  there are various bus lines that offers a ride to and from Batangas City for about 2-3 hours depending on traffic. We took off with JAM liner from Buendia.

Onboard the motorboat
Upon arrival in Batangas Pier,  you can purchase your tickets going to wherever you need to go in Mindoro.  Our destination is in White Beach where the party is more fun!

We didn't actually have any hotel reservation when we traveled  because it's off season anyway.  But it's okay! At the port,  there are numerous hotel booths and crews that will swarm around you and offer their accomodations. Of course,  we chose a cheap but beachfront hotel. Although it's best to have a pre-arranged room especially during peak days to lessen the hassle. Note: There are minimal fees you need to pay at the ports.

Sunset at White beach
We were  sooo ecstatic that we didn't notice the boat ride took 1.5 hours. After setting foot on White Beach, you'll have to have your names registered and pay an environmental fee before heading to your hotel. We already felt the intense good vibes everywhere! Everyone looks happy, laid back and feels perfectly tropical.

               What to do?

Puerto Galera at night
Subsequently,  when we're done checking in and taking our break from a tiring travel, we immediately roamed around and see what Puerto Galera is all about.

The squad

Well,  they don't call this place Puerto Galera for nothing. It's a fact that the sand is white and shimmering mostly during hot summer days while the  ocean runs back to the shore beautifully. Not to mention, the restaurants are standing next to each other. So,  you'll smell the aroma of the food being cooked. It makes you wanna dine in and devour the entire menu. While eating,  there might be locals who would offer tours and boat services  so you better get your haggling talents shine. We we're able to hire one for 1500 pesos good for 8 persons. Not bad at all! Then we asked to have our tour early tomorrow.

Tell me why this photo is funny AF!

Additionally at night, the shore comes to life with laughter from different patrons of people and beach goers having a good time drinking and/or just casually eating out with their family.  We had a night swimming after dinner.  😂 The wind blows strongly as we pull our bodies out of the salty water after one of our colleagues got her face kicked off unintentionally.  I guess you saw it on the picture above.  Hahaha!   Basically,  we just swam for like 20 minutes.  Then headed back to shore,  got some tables and warmed up with a little bit of alcohol while watching the outrageous  performers playing with fire literally.

A while later,  when we're tipsy and have all the bravery in the world,  we went to a tattoo/henna shop to have our skin inked. And the rest of the night is epic!

Day 2

Sunrise at Puerto Galera

We didn't waste our time lying on the bed.  We still woke up early to catch a tricycle going to another port where we need to dock off  bound for our destinations: The Coral Garden, The Giant Clams and San Antonio Island.

At the port before riding on a motorboat to reach near the Coral Garden

Now boarding a small boat to the Coral Garden. Get your breads ready for fish feeding!

Splendid view! We need to use smaller boats to prevent damaging the shallow corals in the garden

Snorkelling at the Giant Clams

San Antonio Island may be the most enjoyable part of our tour.  You would have to go minor rock climbing prior to getting in the cave-like spot. The water inside is ice cold and torquoise blue. It's superb!!!

What I earned overnight.  😁

In the end,  we were definitely delighted with our experience in Puerto Galera.  It was very weakening because there are variety of things to do with so little time. We haven't tried the water sports yet so that means we will absolutely be going back (maybe with my family already).  Ironically,  our physical body looks worn out but our soul feels refreshed and recharged! Till next time Puerto Galera.  Ciaó!!!
