Hello Hong Kong! (Day 3.2) A Symphony of Lights While Onboard Bauhinia Harbour Cruise

Bauhinia Harbour Cruises' luxury vessel
It's our last night here in Hong Kong so I believe the best way to end our tour is through a dinner cruise around Victoria Harbour while watching the world renowned A Symphony of Lights. I booked a table for us on Bauhinia Harbour Cruises through Klook. And I think I made the right choice because I got a great discount on this deal that is inclusive of a night time cruise during the lights and sounds show plus an international dinner buffet.

How to get there?

Bauhinia have two pick up points, so we chose to embark on Hung Hom Ferry Pier because it's nearer to our hotel. Just take the MTR to Whampoa Station and walk for about 8 minutes to the pier.

We arrived at the pier 30 minutes before embarcation. After meeting the cruise personnel and getting our table number, we just sat down on the side and took time to appreciate how gorgeous Hong Kong is. I just love their public transportation, the tall buildings, the colorful vessels passing by and the clean water surrounding the area. And of course, I also thanked God for giving us the opportunity to be here!

Table #46
Our boat just arrived and our mothers got so excited after seeing the vessel that we will be getting on because it's their first time to ride on a boat as big as this one. So our table is number 46 which is beside the stage where the entertainment is. How I wish our table is just next to the buffet table. 😜😁

My second plate full of sweets

Our cruise started at 8PM so the guests are absolutely no doubt very hungry. Most of the them... Okay, including us 😂 went to the buffet table right away. The sumptuous buffet have hot and cold international cuisines, soups and salads, seafood like huge shrimps, salmons and mussels. They also serve roast lamb and the well-known Chinese Peking duck. Certainly a wide selection of sweet and delicious desserts are on the grab! I wasn't able to take a picture of all the dishes because I got so caught up with all this enticing entrées. So I just picked up a plate and then suddenly forgot the world.  Just a reminder, you still have to bring a couple of cash or credit card because cocktails and other beverages are not for free except water and juice.

The Entertainment

Our Moms with the Live band

While eating our heart out, we're serenaded by a live band just perfect for the evening. In the beginning they will play songs that have soft melody like Bossa Nova, Jazz and the like.

All fueled up to hit the dance floor
After the guests are done eating, they play lively music. So that means it's time to burn those calories earned and get on the dance floor! The band is so effective they we're able to entertain all the guests with their powerful voices. No wonder because the band is consist of Filipinos. It's actually awesome that they can converse and also sing Japanese and Chinese songs. It only shows that Filipinos are world class performers and very talented. Salute mga kababayan!

A Symphony of Lights

The HK Observation Wheel (Ferris wheel) is seen from afar

This attraction was named by Guinness World Records as the "World's Largest and Permanent Light and Sound Show". There are over 40 buildings on both sides of the harbour participating with their colorful lights and laser beams nightly.

The harbour's other side
This multimedia show is  spectacularly synchronized with music that displays how diverse and dashing Hong Kong is. The show is free and can be enjoyed every single night at around 8PM.

Groupfie with the dazzling lights show
However, in our case, we paid much higher just to be on board a cruise while watching the widely known Symphony of Lights. But that should be okay because it's sure worth every penny.

Overall, we we're able to experience Hong Kong by land, air and sea. It's very tiring because travelling with a toddler and our two elderly moms make it more challenging. But, I'm still proud of them because they conquered Hong Kong and completed all our activities without any complaints. Til our next adventure! Ciao!!!
